Gani Adams Vow To Liberate The Yoruba Nation, Gives Buhari Option

Gani Adams, the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to choose between self-determination and regional governance for the people of the South West, claiming that the freedom of Yoruba people is a must.

Iexclusive News Nigeria reports that Nigeria was created for northerners alone, particularly the Fulani, according to the Yoruba chieftain.

However, the Aare Onakakanfo, who spoke on Thursday in Osogbo, Osun State, during a leadership training for the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) in the state, said he favored self-determination and would not give up on it.

Meanwhile, Gani Adams backed a proposal for regional autonomy put up by the governors of the Southwest.

He urged Yoruba people to rise and fight for their liberation, claiming that the tribe was being denied its rights.

“We will not use guns or violate society’s peace.”

He continued that Nigeria was built for Fulanis, and Yorubas should answer the call and fight for their rights, which they are denied.

He opposed the request for state autonomy by several Southern states, stating that it would prevent Yoruba land from having a unilateral relationship with what he considers a homogenous territory.

Gani Adams went on to say that he backs Prof Banji Akintoye’s diplomatic approach to achieving a peaceful fight.

“In the United Nations, a Yoruba diaspora voice will join ‘One Million March.’

Anyone who observes Nigeria’s current trajectory will choose for regional autonomy or self-determination.

We can’t keep living in poverty and terror because our lives are in danger.

He said, “We can’t continue to remain in a nation where our future is uncertain, where we will be treated as second or third-class citizens.”
