George Floyd’s 4-Year-Old Niece Shot While Asleep – Police Say

TEXAS — Police say George Floyd’s four-year-old niece was shot inside her apartment as she lay in her bed on New Year’s Day.

Around 2:55 a.m. on Saturday, Houston police were dispatched to the scene at 3322 Yellowstone Boulevard.

Arianna, a 4-year-old child, was sent to a local hospital. She is George Floyd’s niece, according to local media.

A suspect or suspects fired several shots into an apartment at the above address while four adults and two children were inside, according to HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives A. Carroll and J. Roberts.

The torso of one of the children was struck. She was driven to a local hospital in a private vehicle, where she underwent surgery and is now in stable condition.

As of the time of filing this report, there is no suspect description or motivation for the shooting, according to police.
