Gunmen Kidnap Nigerian Lawmaker Returning for Christmas

Gunmen have abducted a member of the Anambra House of Assembly.

iexclusivenews gathered that the lawmaker, Justice Azuka, was abducted by gunmen on Tuesday night along Ugwunabamkpa Road in Onitsha North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

According to sources, Mr. Azuka, who represents Onitsha North Constituency I in the state assembly, was returning home for the Christmas celebration when the hoodlums attacked him.

Tochukwu Ikenga, the police spokesperson for Anambra State, confirmed the development in a statement sent to PREMIUM TIMES on Wednesday evening.

Mr. Ikenga, a police superintendent, said the gunmen abducted the lawmaker around 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to the spokesperson, the state police have “activated operational plans for the possible rescue and arrest of the lawmaker’s kidnappers.”
