Ganduje was among the governors that traveled to Gusau, the capital of Zamfara, to greet Governor Bello Matawalle and important Zamfara politicians who switched to the ruling party.

This online news medium gathered that the attack was verified by Government House officials, however Ganduje was not in the vehicle when the gunman / bandits attacked.

You know, because the venue was boisterous after the ceremony, His Excellency, Gov Ganduje, joined his friend, Governor Badaru, and they both arrived in Kano hours before the Kano convoy arrived,” a government house employee who begged not to be named stated.

Dozens of militants who had barricaded the road were claimed to have opened fire as soon as they saw the caravan.

Attempts to reach the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, were unsuccessful because phones were turned off at the time of filing this report.
