How EFCC Arrested Femi Fani-Kayode For Forgery
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC in Lagos has detained Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation.
iexclusive News Nigeria reports that Femi Fani-Kayode was reportedly being investigated for possible document falsification and manipulation.
The ex-minister, who rejoined the All Progressives Congress in September, was brought to the anti-graft agency’s Lagos Zonal Office on Tuesday, according to our source.
The allegations against him were vague, but Fani-Kayode was apprehended by EFCC officers, according to EFCC spokesman Wilson Uwujaren.
“I believe something similar occurred,” he said, declining to elaborate.
Fani-Kayode had been in a long-running legal struggle with the EFCC, and he was once held for 67 days in 2016 alongside Nenadi Usman, a former minister of finance.
A 17-count criminal conspiracy, fraud, and money laundering charge was filed against the duo and two others, totaling N4.9 billion.
They rejected the accusations and were eventually given N250 million bail each.
