Police have arrested Ibrahim Babangida and 3 others in Adamawa state.

iexclusive News Nigeria reports that Friday, October 15, 2021, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) confirmed the arrest of Ibrahim Babangida, a main suspect in the kidnapping of a nursing mother, Hauwa Umaru, and her daughter on October 10 in Adamawa.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, verified the news, stating that Babangida was detained alongside three others who were allegedly involved in the attack on the Ngurore Police Station.

The suspects were apprehended on Thursday, according to the command’s spokesperson, and one AK-47 rifle with 16 rounds of live ammo was found.

“The arrest of one Buba Ibrahim Babangida, 20, a native of Wuro Bilal village, Ngurore District, Yola South LGA, launched the breakthrough that led to the arrest of the accused,” Nguroje added.

“One of the main suspects in the kidnapping operation is Ibrahim Babangida, whose confession detailed how they abducted Hauwa Umaru, her daughter, and one Alhaji Bahago of Ibbare, as well as attacking the Ngurore police station.”

“Some professional Hunters assisted the cops in apprehending the other three gang members.”

He further claimed that the alleged criminals were part of a seven-man gang targeting Adamawa and Taraba state residents.

The suspects will be charged in court once the inquiry is completed, according to a representative for the command.
