Jos Crisis: Kwara Moves To Evacuate Indigenes From UNIJOS

iexclusive News Nigeria reports that the government of Kwara has moved to save its students at the University of Jos in Plateau State.

Comrade Abdulkareem Mumini Onagun, the state governor’s Special Adviser on Labour, revealed this in response to a distress message sent to the state government by one Usman Maimuna, a state native studying at the university.

”We have contacted the proper government agency, and urgent answers and steps are being taken, maybe as early as today Sunday,” Onagun added.

Maimuna, a student at the University of Jos studying Quantity Surveying, had cried out that the continuous crisis in Plateau had made living hazardous, and that the university officials had ordered students to leave the school.

He stated that some students had already died as a result of the crisis, and that some state governments had dispatched buses and security people to evacuate their students from the campus.

Maimuna alleged that her attempts to contact the Kwara State Government had failed.

The governor’s adviser emphasized that efforts to save the youngsters were still underway.
