Malam Salisu, an eyewitness from Bakin Zuwo, described the scene:

“I saw the protesters in their numbers around 10 AM. They were holding the Russian flag, protesting against issues of bad governance, insecurity, and hardship.”

Social media also played a significant role in documenting the protests.

A resident, using the handle @Tkr__khalifa, tweeted a video showing protesters in Bakin Zuwo displaying the Russian flag and chanting “koya gyara sai ya sauka,” which translates to “whether he adjusts or not, he must go.”

The tweet highlighted the ongoing hunger protests in Kano, describing President Tinubu’s speech as “hopeless.”
