30 Malnourished Minors Arrive at Aso Villa Abuja After President Tinubu Ordered Their Release
iexclusivenews – 114 #EndBadGovernance protesters, including 30 malnourished minors, have arrived at the State House Auditorium in Abuja after their release was ordered by President Bola Tinubu on Monday.
The group was brought to the premises at around 2:00 pm and was received by Vice President Kashim Shettima on behalf of President Tinubu to be handed over to their respective state governors. Their release was facilitated by the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi.
However, the presence of the malnourished minors among the protesters has further highlighted the plight of vulnerable individuals caught in the midst of social unrest. The arrival of these individuals at Aso Villa, the seat of Nigeria’s federal government, underscores the importance of addressing the needs of the most vulnerable members of society.
Justice Obiora Egwatu of the Federal High Court in Abuja had earlier dismissed the case against the protesters as requested by the Office of the Attorney-General. This decision paved the way for their release and subsequent transfer to Aso Villa.
Prominent figures in attendance at the event include Deputy Senate President Jubrin Barau, Chairman of the Committee on Appropriation Abubakar Bichi, as well as the Governors of Kaduna, Uba Sani, and Kano, Abba Yusuf. Additionally, several ministers, including the Ministers of Education, Tunji Alausa; Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Nentawe Yilwatda; and Environment, Balarabe Lawal, were present.

This online news media understands that the arrival of the malnourished minors at Aso Villa has sparked a renewed focus on the urgent need to address the issue of child malnutrition in Nigeria. According to recent reports, the prevalence of stunting, wasting, and underweight among children under the age of five in the country remains a significant challenge.
Meanwhile, in a statement, President Bola Tinubu expressed his commitment to ensuring the well-being of all Nigerians, including the most vulnerable members of society. “We must stand united in our efforts to protect and support our children, especially those who are facing the devastating effects of malnutrition,” the President said.
The arrival of the malnourished minors at Aso Villa is seen as a positive step towards addressing the broader issue of social inequality and the need for comprehensive support for underprivileged communities. As the nation grapples with the aftermath of social unrest and the ongoing challenge of child malnutrition, the actions taken by the government demonstrate a renewed focus on the welfare of the most vulnerable.
Moving forward, it is expected that the government will work closely with relevant stakeholders, including civil society organizations and international development partners, to develop and implement targeted interventions aimed at tackling the root causes of child malnutrition in Nigeria. This comprehensive approach will be crucial in ensuring that no child is left behind and that all Nigerians, regardless of their circumstances, have access to the necessary resources and support to thrive.
