Minister of Women Affairs

(iexclusivenews) – In a swift and decisive action, the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has disrupted an event that was being organized without the ministry’s approval.

The event, titled “Unveiling the Power of Women and Food Security,” was allegedly being held under the ministry’s name, prompting the minister to take immediate action.

Impersonation Allegations

According to the minister, the event was being organized by a group called Mela-Chiyoma Pat Limited, which she claimed was impersonating the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs.

Despite the ministry’s prior cancellation of the event, the organizers had gone ahead with the plans, leading the minister to step in and have the organizer arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS).

“There is an impersonating thing going on here. The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs did not plan this. The lady, I have arrested her. Right now, she is with the Department of State Service (DSS),” the minister said in a video posted on her X (formerly Twitter) page.

The minister expressed her frustration with the organizer’s disregard for the ministry’s directives, stating that the event was being held despite the ministry’s written cancellation and the president’s approval for the cancellation.

This blatant disregard for official protocols and procedures has not only disrupted the event but has also raised concerns about the integrity of event organization in the country.

Protecting the Ministry’s Reputation

The minister emphasized that the ministry cannot allow such events to proceed, as it constitutes a form of impersonation and fraud.

She made it clear that the organizer should have used her own name and resources to organize the event, rather than misrepresenting the ministry.

The minister’s swift action was driven by the need to safeguard the reputation and credibility of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs.

“She should have organised herself, used her name to make an invitation, and used her name to do this and not to use the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs,” the minister stated.

The Importance of Respecting Official Channels

This incident serves as a reminder to event organizers that they must respect the official channels and protocols set by government ministries and agencies.

Bypassing these established procedures can lead to serious consequences, as demonstrated by the minister’s decisive action.

Moving forward, event organizers in the country must ensure that they follow the appropriate guidelines and obtain the necessary approvals before proceeding with their events.

Failure to do so may not only result in the disruption of the event but could also lead to legal ramifications, as evidenced by the arrest of the organizer in this case.

As the government continues to emphasize the importance of transparency and accountability, this ministerial crackdown sends a clear message that misrepresentation and disregard for official protocols will not be tolerated.

It is a wake-up call for event organizers to prioritize compliance and maintain a respectful relationship with the relevant authorities.
