Newborn Infant Was Photographed Grasping Her Mother’s Contraception Coil.
Iexclusive News Nigeria reports that a newborn infant was photographed holding it’s mother’s contraception coil, which had failed to prevent the mother from becoming pregnant.
Bernardo was born on July 4, 2021, in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro to Paula dos Santos Escudero Alvarez, 32.
The mother had been using an intrauterine device (IUD) for three years as a form of birth control.
Despite this, she became pregnant, which is exceedingly unusual given that the device is designed to last between five and ten years.
Bernardo weighed just over 3kg when he was delivered at 32 weeks (7lbs).
Surprisingly, the woman gave birth to her first kid, Gabriel, while on the pill.
Bernado was regarded as a “miracle” by birth photographer Michelle Oliveira.
When her second child was born, she said the coil was removed and given to him to hold.
Michelle said: “The IUD was placed in his little hand to represent his arrival.
“The baby was born, the IUD was removed straight away, and the doctor placed it in his little hand.
