1. Nigerian couple entrepreneurs Gloria Igberaese and Muyiwa Folorunsho declared wanted by Interpol and on the run for their involvement in multimillion-dollar investment fraud have obtained Dominican passports. Last week, Peoples Gazette reported that the entrepreneurs, CEOs of Divergent Enterprise operating businesses such as Landlagos, PorkMoney, Hyberfactory, and Porkoyum, among other companies, were issued warrants of arrest by the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court.

2. The abductors of Muhammed Sanni Idris, the Niger State Commissioner for Information, have demanded N500 million in ransom. An official of the state government made this known on Monday in Minna, the state capital, stating that the kidnappers have since established contact to make their demands known.

3. Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says no staff of the commission should remain in analogue and manual mode but all should adapt to technological innovations and creativity. He gave the charge on Monday in Lagos at the opening ceremony of a four-day capacity building for INEC’s Heads of Voter Education and Publicity (VEP) and Public Affairs Officers (PAOs) in the southern states.

4. The Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19 has fixed August 16, 2021, for second phase vaccination against COVID-19. The Executive Director, National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), and a member of the PSC, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, said this on Monday.

5. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) on Monday, grilled the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Council (NIPC) Mrs. Yewande Sadiku for about nine hours. She was interrogated for alleged abuse of office, bordering largely on suspicious award of contracts.

The Department of State Services has filed a remand application at the Federal High Court in Abuja, asking the court to nullify the bail earlier granted to four of the 12 detained associates of embattled Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho. In the motion no FHC/ABJ/CS/647/2021, filed on Monday by the DSS lawyer, Idowu Awo, the secret police urged Justice Obiora Egwuatu to cancel the bail granted to Amudat Babatunde, Abideen Shittu, Jamiu Oyetunji, and Bamidele Sunday.

7. Two convicted fraudsters, Tobilola Bakare and Alimi Sikiru have forfeited three duplexes in the Lekki axis of Lagos and N200 million cash to the Federal Government, following their prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
