Nigerian Pilgrim Commits Suicide; Another Dies in Mecca 

iexclusivenews – In a deeply sorrowful turn of events, the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Board has confirmed the deaths of two Nigerian pilgrims in Madina, Saudi Arabia.

The tragic incidents have cast a shadow over the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage, set to commence on Friday.

Unfortunate Suicidal Episode

Hajia Hawawu Mohammed, a pilgrim from Kwara State, reportedly took her own life by falling from the rooftop of her apartment in Madina.

Saudi authorities have described this incident as “an unfortunate suicidal episode.” The circumstances surrounding her death have left many in shock and mourning.

Sudden Illness Claims Another Life

In a separate incident, another pilgrim from Kwara State, Saliu Mohammed, succumbed to a sudden illness.

He passed away in the intensive care unit of a public hospital in Madina after falling ill unexpectedly.

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Board disclosed these details in a statement signed by its Executive Secretary, Abdulsalam AbdulKabir.

Official Statement and Condolences

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Board expressed profound regret over these “sad events” and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.

The board emphasized the importance of submission to the decree and ultimate knowledge of Allah in all affairs, praying for divine comfort and forgiveness for the departed souls.

 Increasing Number of Deaths Among Nigerian Pilgrims

These recent deaths add to the growing number of Nigerian pilgrims who have passed away in Saudi Arabia ahead of this year’s Hajj.

Previously, two pilgrims from Kebbi State and one from Lagos State also died in Makkah.

The board’s statement highlights the need for continued prayers and support for the families affected by these tragedies.

The loss of Hajia Hawawu Mohammed and Saliu Mohammed serves as a somber reminder of the challenges and uncertainties faced by pilgrims during the Hajj pilgrimage.
