NPower News: FEC Approves N14bn To Train 50,000 Non-Graduates 

NPower News…The Federal Executive Council (FEC) Wednesday in Abuja approved over N14 billion to train 50,000 non-graduates of N-power for a period of nine months.

The meeting, which took place in the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja and was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, also adopted the Business, Facilitation, and Miscellaneous Provision Bill.

While updating State House media on the conclusion of the council meeting. Sadiya Umar-Farouq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development. And Abubakar Malami, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, revealed the approvals.

Umar-Farouq indicated that the N14 billion would be utilized to hire four federal government entities to assist in the training of NPower non-graduates for a nine-month period.

She said: “Today, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development submitted a memo to Council, asking Council for approval for the engagement of four Federal Government Agencies that will train our N-Power non-graduate beneficiaries.”

“The affected agencies included the National Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Industrial Training Fund (ITF), National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism and the Hydraulic Equipment Development Institute”.

She went on to say that at the conclusion of the training, the program’s participants would be given startup packets to help them launch their enterprises.

Also told correspondents that the council adopted the Business, Facilitation, and Miscellaneous Provision Bill to consolidate reforms and increase productivity and value.

He explained that the bill was part of the government’s endeavor to keep the legacy of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council alive (PEBEC).

The measure will be sent to the National Assembly for review, according to the minister.
