Presidency Unveils New Presidential Jet as Tinubu Departs for France

(iexclusivenews) – The Nigerian Presidency on Monday unveiled a new Airbus A330 jet acquired for President Bola Tinubu.

The aircraft replaces the 19-year-old Boeing B737-700 previously used by the president.

Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, shared images of the new jet on social media.

He claimed the new aircraft is more cost-effective, with lower maintenance and fuel expenses compared to its predecessor.

Onanuga explained that the decision to replace the old jet followed concerns raised by the Nigerian parliament about its safety and efficiency.

After the aircraft malfunctioned during a trip to Saudi Arabia, the Senate’s security and intelligence committee recommended its replacement.

The new Airbus A330 boasts a modern interior, advanced technology, and increased space.

It is expected to improve the president’s travel experience and enhance security.

Tinubu Embarks on France Trip

Coinciding with the unveiling, President Tinubu departed Nigeria for France on Monday afternoon.

The presidential entourage traveled aboard the newly acquired Airbus A330. This marks the president’s fourth visit to France.

While the Presidency has not disclosed the purchase price of the new jet, it is clear that the government is seeking to modernize its presidential fleet and reduce operational costs.
