Prince Andrew To Keep The Rest Of His Royal Titles Despite Virginia Roberts Settlement

Prince Andrew will be allowed to keep his remaining titles despite calls for him to be stripped of them following his sex abuse settlement.

This is coming after a multi-million-pound payout was made to his accuser Virginia Roberts with the Prince facing calls to hand back or to lose the dukedom of York, his Naval service rank of Vice-Admiral and a royal role as counsellor of state.

According to Mail Online, after being obliged to return his military titles and royal patronages to the Queen and left to fight Miss Roberts’ allegations as a ‘private citizen,’ the prince will be allowed to maintain his remaining titles.

Despite requests from York Labour MP Rachael Maskell for the prince to cease his ties with the city, it was revealed yesterday that he would be permitted to keep the remaining honors.

Buckingham Palace and the Ministry of Defence, according to sources, have no plans to reconsider the titles.

Andrew is expected to remain one of four state counsellors who could temporarily fill in for the Queen on official duties if she becomes ill or is away. Charles, William, and Harry are the other three, making two of the four present state counsellors no longer working Royals.

When asked about Andrew’s military title, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace stated it was up to the Palace to decide.
