Sanwo-Olu Offers Free BRT Rides For Lagosians During Yuletide

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, has approved free BRT rides for Lagos citizens on Christmas and New Year’s days.

iexclusive News Nigeria reports that the LAMATA’s spokesman, Mr. Kolawole Ojelabi, the Managing Director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo, released a statement on Friday in Lagos.

Lagosians would be given free bus commuter services on the Ikorodu to TBS, Oshodi to Abule Egba, and Lagos Badagry Expressway BRT lines, according to Akinajo.

Governor Sanwo-Olu is persuaded that the greatest way to close the year and begin a new one is with hope, according to Akinajo.

Akinajo also stated that the gift was provided in the spirit of joy, love, and peace that Christmas represents.

“Lagosians must, therefore, approach the New Year, which promises to transform and enhance the passenger experience, in comfort,” Akinajo stated in her statement.

“The governor has promised that passenger service will begin on the first two stages of the state’s rail lines – the Blue and Red lines.

“He has proved this devotion by completing both train lines and obtaining funding for their completion and rolling stock.”

“What is required of us is that we assist him so that we may realize his vision.”
