How the passing of Sound Sultan upset me – Gov Makinde

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State condemned the death of Lanre Fasasi, better known as Sound Sultan, an Iseyin Oyo State native, as a major loss to the state and the entertainment industry on Sunday.

iexclusive News Nigeria reports that Mr. Moses Alao, the governor’s Special Assistant on Print Media, characterized the tragedy as the demise of a brilliant ambassador for the state, adding that his death unsettled him.

Makinde expressed condolences to the deceased’s immediate family, the Iseyin community, and the entertainment business, stating that Sound Sultan left powerful messages for Nigerian society.

According to the statement, the governor described Sound Sultan as a ‘modest, wonderful talent, and a shining light’ who has benefited society through his performance.

“While Sound Sultan died at the young age of 44, he left a lasting imprint on Nigerian society through a variety of songs with subject preoccupations centered on politics, devotion, and loyalty to the fatherland, among others,” the statement added.

The governor urged state youths to take a page from Sound Sultan’s books.

According to him, the late artist set an excellent example of how a young person may manage stardom.

“I was profoundly disturbed by the news of the death of popular musician and producer Lanre Fasasi, often known as Sound Sultan.

From afar, Sound Sultan cuts the image of a well-bred young man who attained notoriety through hard effort and maintained relevance without succumbing to the trappings of celebrity and youthful exuberance.

“We have lost a guy who made an effort to make a positive difference in his society through entertainment.

“I pray to God for the fortitude to bear his loss,” the governor remarked.
