Supreme Court Affirms Soludo As APGA’s Anambra Guber Candidate
iexclusive News Nigeria reports that Supreme Court has affirmed Soludo as APGA’s Anambra Guber Candidate and Oye as National Chairman
After nearly two hours of legal fireworks, the Supreme Court in Abuja on Thursday affirmed Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, as the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, governorship candidate in the November 6, 2021, election in Anambra State.
The Supreme Court also reinstated Chief Victor Oye as the party’s National Chairman.
The appeal filed by one Jude Okeke was dismissed by a five-member panel of justices on the grounds that it was an abuse of court procedure.
Jude Okeke was ordered to pay N1 million to APGA and Victor Oye by Justice Mary Peter Odili, who delivered the lead judgment.
Justice Odili confirmed the decision of the Kano Division of the Court of Appeal, which had previously dismissed Okeke’s case.
