Taylor Swift Fans Raise $40K for Kamala Harris After Trump’s Hate Post

iexclusivenews – In a remarkable show of solidarity, Taylor Swift fans have raised over $40,000 for Kamala Harris’s campaign following a controversial post by Donald Trump.

The Republican candidate’s outburst on Truth Social, where he declared “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”, spurred the “Swifties for Kamala” organization into action, turning his negativity into a fundraising opportunity for Harris.

“As soon as we saw the post, we knew this was an opportunity,” said Carly Long, a group communications team member. “Our team was ready with lyric response ideas and ways to tie in our calls to donate and volunteer.”

Taylor Swift Turn Hate into Action

Although not officially affiliated with Taylor Swift, the Swifties have proven their dedication to Kamala Harris.

They have raised over $207,000 since launching their fundraising and outreach efforts less than two months ago.

Their inaugural fundraising call attracted 27,000 viewers and featured appearances from stars like Carole King and Senators Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Ed Markey.

“We use memes to catch people’s attention and then tell them how to turn that emotion into action,”

Long explained. “Swifties know that haters gonna hate, but we also know we can do more than just shake, shake, shake.”

Swift Endorses Harris

Taylor Swift herself has endorsed Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz, calling Harris a “steady-handed, gifted leader.”

Swift’s endorsement came shortly after the Harris-Trump debate, where she posted,

“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”

The Swifties for Kamala group is planning additional outreach efforts, particularly in swing states and at the remaining dates of Swift’s blockbuster Eras Tour, which resumes in Miami on October 18.

Irene Kim, a co-founder of the group, emphasized the impact of their efforts, stating,

“We’re building off our existing fandom culture to make voting and politics accessible.”
Swifties’ Continued Efforts

In addition to fundraising and phone banking, the Swifties for Kamala are leveraging their fandom to engage more voters.

Their efforts highlight the power of community and the influence of pop culture in politics.

The group’s success is a testament to their organizational skills and the dedication of Taylor Swift’s fanbase.

“We’re proof of the power Swifties have,” Kim said. “We’re making a real difference by turning our passion for Taylor Swift into political action.”

As the campaign progresses, the Swifties for Kamala continue to mobilize support, demonstrating that even in the face of negativity, they can create positive change.

Their efforts are a shining example of how grassroots movements can influence political landscapes and support candidates who align with their values.
