Barr. Uju Kennedy Ohanenye Expresses Gratitude After Cabinet Dismissal

iexclusivenews – Former Minister of Women Affairs, Barr. Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, First Lady Remi Tinubu, and the people of Nigeria following her removal from the cabinet. 

Barr.  Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye was among several ministers relieved of their duties on Wednesday, including Prof. Tahir Mamman (Education), Mohammed Gwarzo (State for Housing), Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), and suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu, who was replaced.

A Grateful Farewell

In a statement released on Thursday, Barr.  Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye conveyed her appreciation for the opportunity to serve as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. “I write to express my sincere gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It has been an honor and a privilege to contribute to the development of our nation,” she said.

 Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye also extended her heartfelt thanks to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, for her invaluable guidance and support during her tenure as Minister of Women Affairs. “Her kindness and encouragement were instrumental to my success,” she added.

Acknowledging Public Support

The former minister Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye expressed deep gratitude to the people of Nigeria for their unwavering support. “To the people of Nigeria, I am deeply grateful for your unwavering support. Your trust and confidence in me have been a constant source of inspiration,” Kennedy-Ohanenye stated.

Barr. Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye reaffirmed her commitment to serving the country and contributing to its progress and prosperity. “I remain committed to serving my country and will continue to do my utmost to contribute to its progress and prosperity,” she concluded.

Cabinet Reshuffle and New Appointments

The dismissal of  Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye and other ministers is part of a broader cabinet reshuffle by President Tinubu. The reshuffle aims to bring fresh perspectives and drive the administration’s goals more effectively.

The new appointments include notable figures such as Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who has been selected for the position of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and Nentawe Yilwatda, who is slated to become the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu: Minister of State for Foreign Affairs

Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu is a distinguished diplomat, lawyer, businesswoman, and former beauty queen. She has previously served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ghana and later as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain. Currently, she represents Nigeria at the United Nations World Tourism Organization. Bianca, the widow of Biafran leader Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, brings a wealth of experience to her new role.

Nentawe Yilwatda: Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction

Nentawe Yilwatda, an engineer and community developer from Plateau State, is set to take over the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction. He has a strong background in engineering and has served as a Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Maigari Dingyadi: Minister of Labour and Employment

Maigari Dingyadi, who hails from Sokoto, has been nominated for the Ministry of Labour and Employment. Dingyadi has a rich political background, having served as Nigeria’s Minister of Police Affairs and represented Bodinga Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Jumoke Oduwole: Minister of Industry

Jumoke Oduwole, an academic and advisor, is set to take over the Ministry of Industry. She has previously served as Special Adviser to the President on Ease of Doing Business and as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Industry, Trade & Investment.

Idi Maiha: Minister of Livestock Development

Idi Maiha, the Chairman and CEO of Zaidi Farms Limited, has been appointed to lead the newly created Ministry of Livestock Development. Maiha has contributed significantly to Nigeria’s energy sector and brings valuable expertise to his new role.

Yusuf Ata: Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development

Yusuf Ata, a seasoned educator and former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, will serve as the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development. He has extensive experience in government and education.

Suwaiba Ahmad: Minister of State for Education

Suwaiba Ahmad, an educationist and gender advocate, has been named the Minister of State for Education. She is currently a lecturer at Bayero University, Kano, and directs the Centre for Gender Studies.
