Wike Sets August 1 to Honor Abuja Traditional Rulers, Warns Protesters

ABUJA, (iexclusivenews) – Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has declared August 1 as a day to honor traditional rulers in Abuja.

This announcement was made during a press briefing following the FCT Security Council meeting in Abuja.

Certificates of Recognition for Traditional Rulers

On August 1, the chairpersons of the six area councils in Abuja will present certificates of recognition to their traditional rulers.

Wike emphasized that this day is dedicated to celebrating the achievements of the current administration and honoring the traditional leaders.

Warning Against Protest

Wike issued a stern warning to those planning to protest on August 1, stating that the FCT would not be available for any demonstrations.

He stressed that the day is reserved for celebration and that any attempts to disrupt the event will not be tolerated.

While acknowledging the right to protest, Wike insisted that such activities must be conducted within the bounds of the law.

He urged Nigerians to work collectively to address the country’s challenges and expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s ability to tackle these issues.
