IPOB: Why We Declared Tuesday Sit-At-Home Order

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has declared a sit-at-home strike on September 14 in honor of the victims of the military attack in Afaraukwu, Nnamdi Kanu’s hometown.

iexclusive News Nigeria reports that military troops raided Afaraukwu in Abia State on September 14, 2017, in an effort to apprehend Kanu.

Soldiers are alleged to have murdered around 28 individuals during the operation.

The Tuesday sit-at-home, according to IPOB spokesperson Emma Powerful, is sacred across the Southeast.

“We, the worldwide movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), desire to remind all Biafrans, allies of Biafra and lovers of Biafra independence around the globe that the IPOB leadership’s sit-at-home order to be followed tomorrow, Tuesday, September 14, 2021, is sacrosanct,” Powerful said.

“The peaceful demonstration is in honor of the victims of September 14, 2017, murderous attack of our Leader’s compound in Afaraukwu Ibeku Umuahia. The Nigerian Army slaughtered no less than 28 innocent Biafrans during the attack that day.

“All Biafrans, men, and women are urged to remain indoors tomorrow as a gesture of respect for these dead heroes and heroines. We must never forget the enormous sacrifices made by these brave freedom fighters.

Nothing done in their honor can be deemed excessive, for their blood has nurtured the tree of Biafra independence.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, our leader, has also made numerous sacrifices for the restoration of Biafra. As a result, we must all be ready to play our parts in order to complete this monumental mission. “Independence for Biafra is a mission that we must live to fulfill.”

The reported deaths of Biafra agitators, according to Powerful, would not discourage IPOB from agitating for separation.

“The killings of Biafra agitators by Nigeria’s corrupted security services, which are unable to fight Fulani bandits and herders roaming the country, will not discourage us. They like murdering and torturing innocent people who are agitating for their freedom while escaping genuine terrorists,” he added.
