1. Lagos State Police Command, yesterday banned EndSARS protests scheduled to hold in the state on Wednesday. The security agency said it never agreed to allow street protests in commemoration of October 20 anniversary of the demonstration, which cost many lives last year. The development was disclosed in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu.

2. The traditional institution in Imo state was yesterday, thrown into mourning following the killing of two monarchs. The traditional rulers were said to be having a stakeholders meeting at Nnenasa, headquarters of Njaba Local Government Area of the state, when hoodlums struck.

3. President Muhammadu Buhari is hosting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey on a two-day official visit to Nigeria, starting from Tuesday. A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity), Garba Shehu, said Erdogan who would be accompanied by the First Lady, Emine, would come in from Angola, and depart to Togo at the end of his visit. He is currently in the country.

4. The Nigeria Police Force has ordered probe of the officer who was seen casting ballot during Saturday’s congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State. In the viral picture, the officer was seen beside Abdullahi Abbas, the newly elected Chairman of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s faction.

5. A 61-year-old “Pastor”, Famakinwa Ajayi, has been arrested by detectives attached to the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly raping and impregnating a 16-year-old girl. Parading the suspect before journalists in Akure, the state capital, spokesperson of the police command, Mrs Funmi Odunlami, said the suspect will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.

6. Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has alleged that criminals are conniving with some traditional rulers and bad eggs among the security personnel to unleash mayhem on communities in the state. Mohammed, who stated this during the state’s cabinet meeting in Bauchi lamented that the development has made the maintenance of security difficult.

7. A combined air and ground assault by the Nigerian military, Tuesday killed over 50 bandits in the Birnin Gwari forest of Kaduna State. Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
