Oluwo of Iwo: I Can't Trust Any Igbo Man As President See Why

Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has declared that he can trust any Southeasterner to be the President of Nigeria.

iexclusivenews reports that his stand is coming at a time the South-East is demanding for a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction, on the basis of equity.

Oluwo stated that the Eastern Security Network (ESN) members’ sit-at-home directive was not only detrimental to their survival but also to the nation’s progress.

Oba Abdulrosheed, according to this online news outlet, also pushed for the South Easterners to reconsider their approach.

What Oluwo of Iwo said:

No Nigerian will feel safe in the hands of a leader who has stripped other Nigerians of their rights, according to the monarch.

The Oluwo added in a statement issued by Alli Ibraheem, his Chief Press Secretary, that if the South Easterners do not modify their strategy. They will be chasing shadows on their political trip to produce Nigeria’s President.

While admitting the impact of the Nigerian civil war on Igbos. He urged the south easterners to reconsider their policy of prohibiting people from other parts of the country from holding property in their territory.

He maintained that the program was not only damaging to their political strength, but also to Nigeria’s economic unity.

“The civil war scars meted out to south easterners is a weak factor in institutionalizing policies capable of ripping the country apart,” he says.

“In Iwo, I have folks from all over Nigeria, including South Easterners.”

They not only run their enterprises, but they also built their own homes and farms.

This is not exclusive to Iwo, but also to other sections of the country, with the exception of the South-East.

A Nigerian should be able to own land anywhere in the country.

“The South Easterners’ style is barbarous. This is harmful not merely to their economic viability, but also to their political standing. I can’t trust any South Easterner as my President since I’m a traditional monarch.

“You can’t be a leader on sectional interest. With such unsophisticated, primitive and uncivilized thinking, no Nigerian from other zones will vote a south easterner as their President.”
