Afenifere: Ondo Church Terrorist Attack Directed At Akeredolu

Afenifere, the Pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, has condemned the terrorist attack on the Catholic Church in Owo town, Ondo State. 

iexclusivenews reports that the Organizing Secretary of the association, Apagun Kole Omololu. In a statement, stated that the incident was a direct attack on the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, as well as Yoruba land. 

The statement read, “The massacre in Owo Catholic church is a direct attack on Yoruba land. 

“It is directed at Governor Rotimi Akeredolu for his unflinching support for security in Yoruba land. By championing the Amatekun security outfits. His stringent upholding of the open grazing law. And for his ‘big mouth’ about Southern cooperation for equity and justice in Nigeria.

“We will not succumb to terrorist threats or attacks. 

“They will not be allowed to bring down our civilization. We will hunt the killers down. Citizens should not take law into their own hands by attacking innocent northerners. Only the terrorists, who are mostly foreign Fulani. Should be fished out and finished off by the security forces. 

“This attack is to cause confusion and cause war in our land. We should not play into their hands. This evil is condemned in the strongest term. 

“We commiserate with the government and people of Ondo state, the Catholic Church, the Olowo of Owo, and the people of Owo. May the soul of the departed rest in peace.”

iexclusivenews Nigeria recalls that on Sunday morning, several worshippers were slaughtered when terrorists attacked the Ondo church.

iexclusivenews reports that suspected terrorists assaulted a church in Ondo State, killing an unknown number of people and injuring a large number more.

The incident occurred at St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in Ondo State’s Owo Local Government Area.

iexclusivenews Nigeria reports that the church is located behind Olowo of Owo’s palace.

Many members of the congregation were killed by the terrorists by being shot.

Children were also murdered in the attack, according to one of the videos watched by iexclusivenews

Attempts to reach Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya. The state police command’s spokesperson, on her cellphone, was unsuccessful since she did not answer. She didn’t respond to a text message sent to her as well.
