Wike Drags Atiku, Tambuwa To Court, Demands Removal From INEC List

Nyesom Wike, has sued the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, the party and the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal. Following the Peoples Democratic Party, presidential primary election held May 29, 2022.

iexclusivenews recall that during the PDP primary election held in Abuja, the Sokoto Governor, while addressing delegates, asked them to vote for him but later declared that he stepped down for the former Vice President, Atiku.

This online news outlet understands that the election had Atiku poll 371 votes as winner, while Wike and Bukola Saraki garnered 237 and 70 votes, respectively.

Mr Wike and his loyalists have been in a face-off with Atiku’s camp since the conclusion of the PDP’s primary election.

Wike and a PDP leader named Newgent Ekamon have now filed a lawsuit with the filing number FHC/ABJ/CS/782/2022 against Atiku, Tambuwal, and the PDP as a result of the ongoing turmoil that has shaken the party.

The Independent National Electoral Commission is designated as the second respondent in the originating summons, while the PDP is identified as the first respondent.

The third and fourth respondents on the list are Tambuwal and Atiku, respectively.

Wike and Ekamon urged the court to direct the INEC to strike Atiku from “its list of candidates in the 2023 presidential election,” among other things.
