Alchemy Of Souls Season 2: Plot, Cast, Release Date, Everything We Know

Alchemy Of Souls Season 1 ended with a heartbreaking cliffhanger, but it is returning with an exhilarating second season. Here’s what we know.

iexclusivenews reports that historical fiction Korean dramas are well-known for their breathtaking visuals and cinematography.

Bulgasal: Immortal Souls, Scarlet Heart: Goryeo, and, at the heart of the matter, Alchemy of Souls are a few titles that come to mind.

To no one’s surprise, Alchemy of Souls only scratched the surface of the drama’s complexities, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the second season.

This online news outlet understands that the Hong Sisters-created television series tells the story of two young mages who fall in love and try to overcome their twisted fates linked to forbidden magic.

The series performed exceptionally well in Korea, with a 7.600% rating, and gained enormous popularity overseas. With the announcement of the second season, fans are more excited than ever to learn more about this fantasy drama.

Park Joon Hwa directed the second season, titled Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow, and co-wrote it with Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran, also known as the Hong Sisters.

Although the first season ended on a cliffhanger, leaving us with no choice but to lament indefinitely, the good news is that season 2 is only a few weeks away. While we’re at it, here’s everything we know about Alchemy of Souls Season 2.

Alchemy of Souls Season 2: The Plot

According to the teaser released by the tvN drama’s YouTube channel, the events of the second season take place three years after the events of the first season. Following Jang Uk’s heartbreaking death at the hands of his beloved Nak Su, who is using Mu-body deok’s as a vessel, we see him grasping the Ice Stone while burning in the blue flame and avoiding death due to his status as the King’s Star..

Mu-deok also jumps off the cliff into the lake after wreaking such havoc. Although the finale is meant to make viewers believe she’s gone for good, Mu-deok is rescued at the end of the episode by two strangers.

Jang Uk is shown mercilessly slaughtering soul-shifters with Nak-sword su’s in the teaser. The teaser’s best moment is Nak-brief su’s appearance in her exquisite white gown. The first season gave us little insight into Mu-character, deok’s so the second season has a lot to look forward to.

As a result, the following season will tie up all of the loose ends left by the previous one, such as Cho-vengeance Yeon’s for her father’s murder, Nak-return, su’s and the much-anticipated Mu-past deok’s and origin.

Alchemy of Souls Season 2 Release Date:

Alchemy of Souls season 2, titled Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow, will be available to stream on its platform in Korea and globally on Netflix on December 10, 2022, according to tvN drama to Naver TV.

Everything  We Know

The series will be available for five weeks on Netflix, with two episodes released each week, making Alchemy of Souls season 2 a ten-episode series.

Although the episode release dates have not changed, there may be delays and the dates may change.

The release dates for each episode, beginning with the first, are listed below for your convenience.

The first two episodes will be available on Netflix on December 10 (Saturday) and 11 (Monday) (Sunday).

According to the schedule, the episodes will be released every weekend until season 2 concludes on January 10, 2023.

Furthermore, previous reports indicated that the second season’s main female lead, Jung So-min (Mu-deok), would not be cast.

The production team informed Soompi that Go Yoon Jung would take over as the female lead in place of So-min.

Given how the first season ended with Mu-near-death deok’s experience, Go Yoon Jung reprising her role as Naksu might be a more logical choice.

However, iexclusivenews Nigeria reports that it has yet to be confirmed and is merely conjecture. Since Alchemy of Souls season 1 leaves us with a lot to look forward to in the second season. We should expect more plot twists and, if it’s not too much to ask, another season.
