Traditional Religion Preacher Arrested For Exposing Fake Pastor In Anambra State

(iexclusivenews) – Mathias Ezeaku, a traditional religion preacher in Anambra State, Nigeria, has been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force for exposing the lies of Pastor Ebuka Obi, who claimed to have fasted for 50 days without food and performed a miracle of healing a blind person.

Mathias Ezeaku, who runs a traditional worship centre, has been vocal in criticising the Christian religion and some pastors who make false claims. He has challenged several pastors to prove their authenticity, calling them fake and deceptive.

How Mathias Ezeaku Was Arrested By The Police

Ezeaku was arrested on Sunday morning by over seven policemen in plain clothes as he arrived at his worship centre in Nkpor, near Onitsha.

A video circulating on social media showed Mathias Ezeaku resisting arrest, and his followers also trying to stop the policemen from taking him away.

The incident led to sporadic gunshots by the policemen, who injured one of Ezeaku’s followers in the thigh.

The policemen did not show any arrest warrant or identify themselves properly.

Mathias Ezeaku, a traditional religion preacher had posted a message on his Facebook page early on Sunday morning, inviting his followers to join him for worship.

He wrote:

“Don’t forget to join us today as we adore and uplift the name of our ancestors and creator Chukwuokikeabiama. Time is 9am at Amafor Town Hall Nkpor opposite New Type Market Enugu Onitsha Expressway.”

Some of Ezeaku’s followers protested the arrest, marching to Police Annex in Awkuzu, where they recognised some of the policemen involved in the operation.

They condemned the arrest, saying that it was a violation of Ezeaku’s freedom of expression and religion.

Why Mathias Ezeaku Was Targeted By Pastor Ebuka Obi

This online media outlet however, reliably learned on Monday morning that Mathias Ezeaku had been transferred to Force Headquarters, Abuja, where he is currently being detained.

According to sources, his arrest was orchestrated by Pastor Ebuka Obi, who felt threatened by Ezeaku’s criticism of his fake miracles.

Pastor Ebuka Obi is the founder and general overseer of Christ the King Miracle Church International, based in Onitsha.

He is known for making outrageous claims, such as fasting for 50 days without food, healing a blind person, and raising the dead.

Pastor Ebuka Obi also boasts of having a private jet and a mansion in Dubai.

Ezeaku had challenged Pastor Ebuka Obi to prove his claims, saying that it was impossible for anyone to fast for 50 days without food and that he should provide the blind person he said he healed.

He also accused Pastor Ebuka Obi of using his church as a money-making venture, exploiting the gullibility of his followers.

“He said it’s impossible for Ebuka Obi to fast for 50 days without food and also said he should provide the blind person he said he healed.

They even shot someone while trying to arrest him yesterday. He’s at Force CID. Same place Jeremiah put Kassy. He’s exposing their fake miracles,” one of the sources told SaharaReporters.

iexclusivenews tried to contact the Anambra State Police Command for comments, but the Command’s Spokesperson DSP Tochukwu Ikenga could not be reached at the time of filing this report.
