Betta Edu: Ndume Warns Tinubu Of Cabal Threat In Aso Rock

ABUJA, (iexclusivenews) – Senator Ali Ndume, the Senate Chief Whip, has expressed concern over the existence of a cabal in President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

He urged the president to act fast and disband the cabal before it ruins his government.

Ndume spoke to Tribune on Monday, praising Tinubu for suspending Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, who was accused of financial mismanagement.

He said the president’s action was timely and commendable, as it would pave way for a thorough investigation.

Ndume, who represents Borno South Senatorial District, however, claimed that Edu was not acting alone, but in collaboration with some powerful individuals who have formed a cartel in the presidency.

He warned that the cartel could be more dangerous and destructive than the cabal, if not checked and dismantled.

Ndume said, “President Tinubu deserves our commendation for suspending the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs. It is a welcome development that will enable the relevant agencies to conduct a proper investigation.

“Some people in Tinubu’s position would not have acted. But he showed leadership and courage, and suspended the minister. We should applaud the president. This is something Nigerians should appreciate.

“But the president should not stop there. There is a political cartel that is emerging in the corridors of power. The president must act swiftly and disband the cartel.

“If they are not stopped, they will become stronger and worse than the cabal. The president must not allow that to happen. I don’t think the minister’s case was an isolated one. I don’t think she was working alone.

“The president needs to dig deeper and flush out those who are involved in mismanaging the funds meant for humanitarian assistance.

“We are hopeful that the president will take more decisive actions in the future.”
