Land Borders May Reopen Soon- Zainab Ahmed

Iexclusive News Nigeria reports that the federal government may soon reopen the country’s land borders which has been closed since August 2019.

Nigeria had in August 2019 closed its land borders to curtail illegal importation of drugs, small arms, and agricultural products into Nigeria from neighboring West African countries.

The Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, who gave this indication in an interview with State House correspondents on Wednesday said the presidential committee set up on the matter recommended reopening of the borders.

Although the minister did not disclose when the report will be submitted and how soon the land borders will be reopened, she said the committee would soon submit its report to President Muhammadu Buhari.
