Exclusive: Why Chidinma Denied Killing Usifo Ataga

Chidinma Ojukwu told reporters on June 24 that he stabbed the dead after attempting to have sex with her. In a recent interview, she refuted such a claim.

iexclusive News Nigeria reports that Chidinma Ojukwu, a 21-year-old University of Lagos student who is the key suspect in the murder of Super TV mogul Usifo Ataga, has denied her role in the deceased’s death despite initially admitting to killing him.

The suspect stated this in an interview with Crime Fighters TV on Monday, stating that she admitted to stabbing the deceased to death after making a false confession.

According to her, the dead and she both checked into the flat, but she departed to grab some things for both of them, and when she returned, Mr. Ataga had not responded.

“We were simply indoors, watching movies, drinking, and smoking,” she explained.

Because I was still groggy and dizzy from the smoke, booze, and medicines, he awoke before me.

“When he inquired what we needed, I told him we needed to buy food and medicines.

“He stood up to lock the door before I went, but when I got in, I knocked, and when there was no answer, I opened the door, and it opened as if it hadn’t been shut.

“There was a duvet on the floor, as well as clothes.

“The couch was facing the entrance, which was already smeared with blood.

“…the music was playing, and the television was turned on.

“The room was completely disorganized as if someone had broken in.

“Then I found him on the floor and didn’t know what to do, so I gathered my belongings with his and left.

“I was terrified.

“I didn’t know if they would have arrested me if I had raised the alarm because I and him were the only ones in the room. “I just walked away.”

The Lagos police presented Chidinma Ojukwu in front of the media on June 24 as a suspect in the death of Mr. Usifo Ataga.

Mr. Ataga was discovered dead in a pool of blood in a Lekki residence, with wounds all over his body.

Ms. Ojukwu then told journalists that she and Mr. Ataga were lovers and that she stabbed the deceased because he was abusive towards her when he sought sex.

“I told him he doesn’t help me and only plays games with me,” she explained.

“He was attempting to make advances and I was resisting, so I had to defend myself.”

“I took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed him in the neck twice before throwing the knife on the bed.”

According to the police, the case is still under investigation, and Ms. Ojukwu is still a suspect.
