There are currently no more details about the console other than the fact that it will handle 4K Ultra HD resolution at 120 frames per second.
The hardware and software of the console will be built with community assistance, according to Polium, which claims to have a working prototype in “a few months.”
What You Need To Know
According to Polium, the console will have its own multichain cryptocurrency wallet and the controller will have a wallet button so users can conduct transactions more quickly.
A fingerprint scanner on the controller will provide security and verification of transactions from the console.
The cost of the console is unknown, although Polium does intend to issue Polium Pass NFTs that will enable holders to purchase a console on the first day of availability.
A second NFT, which may later be staked for a PLAY token, the console’s native currency for conducting transactions on its marketplace app, will be given to pass holders.
At the initial launch in Q3 2024, 10,000 consoles will be made available to Polium Pass holders and partners. With more copies being produced for the general public in Q3 2025. It has a target sales target of over 1 million units.
Meanwhile, iexclusivenews Nigeria reports that the business has already drawn criticism for how similar the Nintendo GameCube’s emblem is to another well-known platform.
Polium asserted that it did not imitate the design and that it is now developing a “new, unique” logo.
