Obasanjo Plays an SP Role During BBHS 100th Anniversary 18km Walk (Video )

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo former President of Nigeria on Monday led current and old students of Baptist Boys High School (BBHS), Abeokuta. On an 18km walk around Abeokuta, as part of activities to mark the centenary celebrations of the school.

Obasanjo, who was joined on the walk by the National President of the Old Boys Association, Prof. Kayode Oyesiku, and a large number of current students, entertained residents, motorists, and passers-by.

Hundreds of residents and enthusiasts echoed and praised Obasanjo’s name for his prowess, energy, and endurance in embarking on the walk despite his age

Obasanjo and his team were hosted by the Olubara of Ibara, Oba Jacob Omolade, former Finance Minister Onolapo Soleye, and the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.

Some old schoolmates joined them during their visit to Alake’s palace.

They walked through Oke Egunya, Igbore, Oke Igbein, and Omida, the palace of Oba Omolade, while singing the school anthem and other songs.

Following that, the walkers moved to Soleye’s home in the Ibara Housing Estate. Following that, the team returned to Ake, the palace of Oba Gbadebo.

Shortly after their visit to Alake, the octogenarian, still buzzing with energy, got back on the road and headed for Saje.

A journey that took them through Isle Ake, Adatan, and Kugba Road before entering the rehabilitated Saje Road and entering the school grounds.

Oyesiku revealed that the walk totaled 18 kilometers, and he praised the school’s old boys for their enthusiasm for the centennial anniversary exercise.
