On Saturday, July 10, Sofia Cheung, 32, died after falling 16 feet into the Tsing Dai creek near Yuen Long, Hong Kong. She had spent the day at Ha Pak Lai Nature Park with three friends. A 32-year-old Instagram influencer died after plunging from a waterfall while snapping a picture.

A daring social media star died after trying to take a selfie while plunging from a cliff. On Saturday, July 10, Sofia Cheung, 32, died after falling 16 feet into the Tsing Dai creek near Yuen Long, Hong Kong. She had spent the day at Ha Pak Lai Nature Park with three friends.

Sofia had ascended to the top of the waterfall to shoot the shots later that day when she lost her footing and fell into the river, according to her Instagram page, which listed hiking, kayaking, exploring, outdoor activities, and photography as her loves.

Sofia’s pals immediately dialed 911, and paramedics were able to transport her to a Hong Kong hospital, but she was tragically pronounced dead upon arrival.

Friends have expressed their sadness about the influencer’s Instagram bio, which states, “Life should be fun, not dumb.”
