Akinwunmi Ambode Former Lagos Governor Breaks Silence on 2023

Akinwunmi Ambode Former Lagos Governor has broken his long silence ahead of the 2023 elections.

The 58-year-old governor of Lagos presided over the state from 2015 to 2019, but he was defeated in the APC primary by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Although Ambode has not declared his intention to run for a political office in 2023, many speculate that he may do so.

Ambode recently dedicated the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) Cricket Oval’s turf wicket.

Last year, he revalidated his membership in the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Epe ward and was appointed as Deputy Chairman of the APC’s Contact and Strategy Committee’s South-West subcommittee.

Akinwunmi Ambode, Tuesday urged Nigerian youths to register and obtain permanent voter cards (PVCs) in order to vote in 2023.

In a terse statement shared on his verified social media platforms, the former Lagos governor thanked supporters for their “overwhelming endorsement” of his “modest contributions” to the growth of Lagos.

He claimed that power was in the hands of young people.

Ambode wrote: “After all we have been through, God has been faithful. Thank you for the overwhelming endorsement of our modest contributions to the growth of Lagos. It can only get better for Lagos, and indeed Nigeria. The youths are coming. The power is in their hands. Go and get your Permanent Voters Card (PVC) ready. Your future is NOW!”
