Akwa Ibom Gov’s Wife Gives Ibom Widow A House
Mrs. Martha Emmanuel, the governor of Akwa Ibom’s wife, gave a widow and mother of seven a two-bedroom furnished bungalow on Monday.
iexclusivenews Nigeria reports that the house was built for Mrs. Happiness Isaac, a widow from Utu Ikot in Akwa Ibom’s Etim Ekpo Local Government Area, and her children, whose previous residence was in a state of disarray.
Mrs. Isaac and her children received the house as a gift from the Shelter of Hope Programme (FEYReP), a pet project of Mrs. Emmanuel, according to iexclusivenews Nigeria.
The gesture, according to the governor’s wife, was part of FEYReP’s 6th-anniversary celebrations.
“It has been a six-year wonderful experience, positively impacting lives in every corner of the state,” she said.
God’s grace had been sufficient throughout the six years, she noted, with 58 dwellings handed to poor families and many other life-saving possibilities for individuals.
Mrs. Emmanuel stated that the housing program was established to provide pleasant living quarters for the state’s poorest citizens.
She emphasized that the shelters were not only for widows and widowers but also for poor families who had been confirmed by a team of FEYReP authorities.
She thanked her spouse, whom she referred to as the FEYReP Pillar, for believing in her vision.
The governor’s wife also utilized the event to inform rural women about the FEYReP’s Multipurpose Cooperative Society’s ongoing interest-free loans, urging them to take advantage of the program to become economically self-sufficient.
Mrs. Isaac was warned not to lose hope since God had not forgotten her.
Mrs. Emmanuel also gave 50 additional women in the local government region an undisclosed sum of money and wrappers.
Mrs. Joyce Lazarus, the Akwa Ibom PDP women’s leader, praised the governor’s wife for her generosity and affection for the poor across the state’s 31 local government areas.
Mrs. Emmanuel’s ambitious programs, she said, have touched many lives in the state through FEYReP.
Sen. Akon Enyakenyi (PDP-Eket Senatorial District) also contributed financially to the occasion.
Mrs. Isaac reflected on her past ordeals, particularly following the death of her husband many years ago.
Mrs. Emmanuel was thanked for rescuing her from the clutches of death and poverty, and she begged that God Almighty would bless and reward her.
