BREAKING NEWS: National Grid Suffers Another System Collapse In 2 Days
National Grid has suffered another system breakdown in two days on Tuesday as some part of the country were thrown into darkness
Mr. Felix Ofulue, Head, Corporate Communications, Ikeja Electric Plc, confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos State.
iexclusivenews reports that Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) also confirmed the partial collapse of the grid in a public notice.
The grid collapsed at 5.10 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos).
They said that the collapse had affected power supplies within their networks, resulting in outages for their consumers.
“Dear esteemed customers, we would like to inform you of another system collapse on the national grid which occurred at 5:10 p.m today (Tuesday).”
“We are monitoring the situation and will continue to provide updates.
“Once again, we apologise for the inconvenience,” Eko DisCo said in a statement.
Ikeja Electric had been notified of the collapse, according to Ofulue, and was waiting for the grid to be restored.
