News Flash: DSS Declares Igboho Wanted, Confirms Attack

Sunday Adeyemo, a self-proclaimed activist known as Sunday Igboho, has been declared wanted by the Department of State Services (DSS).

iexclusive News Nigeria reports that the DSS labeled him wanted at a press conference when it announced a raid and the killing of two of his associates at their Ibadan residence.

Igboho had raised an alarm that two people were slain when security personnel invaded his residence in the early hours of Thursday.

The secret police acknowledged the raid on Igboho’s apartment during a press conference in Abuja on Thursday night.

The service’s spokesman, Peter Afunanya, who addressed the media, also paraded no fewer than 12 individuals apprehended during the operation.

He stated that Igboho is currently on the run, but pledged that the authorities will find him.

”A joint team of security operatives invaded the residence of Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a SUNDAY IGBOHO at Soka Ibadan, Oyo State, in the early hours (about 01:34 hours) of today, 1st July, 2021.

”This was predicated on information that he had stored weapons in the area. On their way to the residence, the crew was ambushed by nine (9) individuals, all of whom were suspected to be his security personal

”Six of them were armed with AK-47 rifles, while three others were armed with Pump-Action rifles.

”During the exchange, two (2) of IGBOHO’s armed men were gunned down while the others were apprehended.

”Only one operative was injured when intruders shot him on the right hand. He has, however, received medical attention and is in good condition.”

According to the DSS spokesman, the team conducted a routine search of the house and recovered some weapons.

Afunanya emphasized, “The gun duel, which lasted an hour, gave IGBOHO the opportunity to flee.” Sunday ADEYEMO, also known as Sunday IGBOHO, is on the run.

”IGBOHO may be able to run as far as he can. He is free to remain hidden for as long as he wishes. As his strength carried him, he may have attacked security personnel. But this is the last of his pranks.

”He won’t have a place to hide for long. His strength will undoubtedly fail him. And the law will eventually catch up with him. The legal system may be slow. But it will be consistent.’

”As a result, ADEYEMO/IGBOHO is urged to report to the nearest security agency. Those who are celebrating and eulogizing him may plead to or counsel him to do the right thing.

”He should turn himself in to the proper authorities. He, or anybody else, is never above the law. Meanwhile, those arrested will face appropriate charges.”
