Employability the aim MAPOLY Awards B. Tech Degree.

The Bachelors of technology degree certificate anticipated by students of polytechnics is finally coming to past.

 

This was revealed on Tuesday, OGUN State Government said that the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta will soon begin the process of awarding Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree to its engineering graduates, instead of the Higher National Diploma (HND) which makes the graduates from University ranked more than the polytechnics students.

Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa, whose the Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Education, Science and Technology, disclosed this at his office in Oke – Mosan, Abeokuta, he said this while addressing reporters concerning the institution, he disclosed that it had been mandated by law to award Bachelor Tech degree in its engineering programmes.

 

Prof. Odemuyiwa further said one of the thrusts of the current administration’s policy in education is to “educate for employability through technical education”, hence the need to spur MAPOLY engineering programs and the Governing Council to implement the B.Tech degree aspect of the mandate is on top view.

The focus of the government of Ogun state in person of Governor Abiodun and his administration is to work towards reviewing the educational curriculum in the state to align it with the demands of today and tomorrows education as he concluded
