NFT News: Meet the Snoop Dogg impersonator who walked around NFT.NYC

A man dressed as hip-hop legend Snopp Dogg strolled around NFT.NYC to get things going at the nonfungible token (NFT) event.

Kevin Collier tweeted about his experience with the imposter Snoop Dogg at the NFT event in Times Square.

According to Collier, the man dressed as the well-known rapper was not Snoop Dogg, but an impostor paid to “create excitement.”

Collier went on to say that the experience “feels like a metaphor,” alluding to the copyright difficulties that surround NFTs.

Regiscake, a Twitter user, provided a photo of the phony Snoop Dogg wearing a VIP nametag that read Doop Snogg:

While Doop Snogg was present to add to the excitement of the event, Not everyone was pleased.

Synthpop, a Redditor, slammed the idea, pointing up that NFTs had fake art, phony lyrics, and a fake Snoop. “So far, everything is on brand,” they stated.

The bogus Snoop Dogg did not impress Reddit user az is. The Redditor expressed their displeasure by pointing out that NFTs. A technology designed to protect authenticity, are currently “being marketed with a phony version of a person.”

In April, the iconic rapper was also named as a strategic investor in MoonPay’s investment round. Among “industry VIPs” such as Justin Beiber, Bruce Willis, and Ashton Kutcher.

Following this, MoonPay recently announced a collaboration with Snoop Dogg‘s Death Row Records to develop an NFT marketplace.

Snoop Dogg and Billy Ray Cyrus released a single called “A Hard Working Man” in March. Along with the single, Animal Concerts supported the release with a 50,000-piece NFT drop.
