Oil And Gas Stakeholders Speak On The Implementation Of PIB Bill

iexclusive News Nigeria reports that the stakeholders in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry have come together to discuss the benefits of the Petroleum Industry Bill‘s implementation (PIB).

On July 1, 2021, Nigeria’s Senate passed the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB). The PIB aims to create a legal, governance, regulatory, and budgetary framework for the development of host communities and the Nigerian petroleum industry.

The webinar, held by Financial Energy Review and sponsored by 11 Plc and Emmanuel Egbogah, was attended by highly regarded stakeholders in Nigeria’s oil and gas business.

The event’s presenters, who were all part of the team that worked on the PIA bill, spoke extensively about the bill’s merits and what can be done.

Prof. Yinka Omorogbe, head of the Association of Energy and Economists, said it is unfortunate that the towns where the oil was located are off the grid, with no electricity or development.

So that’s what prompted these positive improvements; the most important thing now is to see that these reforms and measures are carried out.
