Tinubu Missing As Presidential Candidates Sign Peace Accord

Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’ nominee for president, was not present on Thursday when the now-usual peace accord was signed, unlike the nominees of other political parties.

However, iexclusivenews reports that Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, and others were present at the signing, in addition to Kashim Shettima, Tinubu’s running partner.

iexclusivenews Nigeria reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission on September 21, 2022, released the final list of candidates for national elections.

Namely presidential, senatorial and federal constituencies, in line with the 2023 elections timetable earlier released in the year.

Festus Okoye, the National Commissioner in Charge of Voters’ Education for INEC, who confirmed this in a statement, also put the list on its website.

There were 36 presidential contenders on the list, representing 18 different political parties. At the federal level, 469 legislative slots (senatorial and federal constituencies) will be filled by a total of 4,223 candidates.

Tinubu come under heavy fire from the leadership and national working committee of the party.

The party accused Tinubu of arrogantly ignoring their input to the makeup of his campaign committee in a vehement letter written and signed by Adamu to Tinubu, who is still on vacation in London.
