1. A day before the Tokyo Olympics officially opens, organizers have reported 12 COVID-19 cases linked to the event. In their Thursday update, the organizing committee said two athletes staying in the Olympic Village were among those who tested positive.

2. Supporters of embattled Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho, yesterday took to the streets of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to protest his arrest and detention by the Beninese authorities.
