INEC Redeploys 5 RECs, 4 Directors

 

The Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, said on Sunday that five state Resident Electoral Commissioners would be deployed (RECs).

 

iexclusive News Nigeria reports that Mr Festus Okoye, the INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, said this in a statement on Sunday.

 

Mr Olusegun Agbaje, who was redeployed from Osun to Ogun, was among those affected, according to Okoye, who said the redeployments were part of the commission’s usual administrative assignments.

 

Prof. AbdulGaniyu Raji has been redeployed from Ogun to Osun State, and Dr. Asmau Sani Maikudi, the Zamfara REC, has been redeployed to Kaduna State.

 

Dr. Cyril Omorogbe, the REC of Bayelsa, was transferred to Cross River, while Dr. Emannuel Alex Hart, the REC of Cross River, was transferred to Bayelsa.

 

Mr Nick Dazang, INEC Director (Voter Education and Publicity), has gone on terminal leave, according to Okoye, and the handing/taking over operations would be concluded by Monday, September 13.

 

“Mr Victor Aluko has been reallocated from Director (Administration) to Voter Education and Publicity as Director, while Mr Mikah Thabbal Lakumna has been redeployed from his former position as Director to administration,” according to the statement (Security).

 

“Mr Nduh Samson is promoted from Secretary to Director of the Commission (Security). Mr Yakubu Duku, the Director of the Electoral Operations Department, would be the substantive Administrative Secretary in Niger.”
