Buhari Vows To Crush Bandits Says They Will Meet Their Doom

President Muhammadu Buhari has denounced the recent killings of 15 persons in Sokoto State’s Goronyo and Illela local government areas, adding that bandits would eventually face their doom.

On numerous occasions, the president promised that his administration would defeat bandits and militants.

Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, issued a statement on Tuesday assuring Nigerians that his administration will not abandon them to their fate in the face of the existential threat posed by banditry.

He stated that the government must respond vehemently to unjustified violence against defenseless individuals.

“This senseless and indiscriminate violence against innocent people cannot go unpunished,” he stated.

“Our military is also utilizing new technology to improve surveillance and associated operations to down and eliminate these criminals and enemies of humanity.”

“This administration will not allow a situation in which criminals strip people of their means of subsistence, turning them into beggars and refugees.”

“If the bandits believe they can’t be defeated, they’re living in a fool’s paradise.” Criminals cannot constantly be lucky; they will eventually meet their match. No matter how long it takes, evil will never triumph over good.”

Meanwhile, Air Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao, the Chief of Air Staff, has stated that, in accordabyorce’s and the military’s basic mandates, Nigeria’s territorial integrity is being preserved against insurgents and bandits “who, in no distant time, would be entirely wiped out.”

Amao declared this in Abuja on Tuesday before the Senate Committee on Air Force during the 2022 budget defense session.

He said that the terrorists had been destroyed and degraded, with a consequent loss of fighters and weapons, prompting many of them to voluntarily surrender.

“Required onslaughts have already been planned tactically and strategically to clear out the remaining terrorists attacking villages and military locations under the guise of still being potent.”

Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah, the committee’s chairman, had urged the military to deploy all available resources to drive out the remaining terrorists and make the forests uninhabitable for bandits, kidnappers, and other criminals before the session went into closed session.

“The Air Force, and by extension the military in general, deserved accolades from Nigerians in the fight against insurgency and banditry,” he said. “However, Nigerians want these nation’s enemies to be eliminated as soon as feasible.”
