Background of Mohbad’s Death
Mohbad was a rising star in the Nigerian music industry, known for his hit songs such as “Koma Jensun”, “Ponmo Sweet” and “Sorry”. He was signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Music label and had a loyal fan base.
However, his life was cut short on March 15, 2023, when he was found dead in his hotel room in Lekki. The cause of his death was not immediately clear, but there were rumours of drug overdose and foul play.
The police launched an investigation into the case and invited several people who were close to Mohbad for questioning. Among them were Naira Marley, the owner of Marlian Music; Sam Larry, a businessman and socialite; and PrimeBoy, Mohbad’s longtime friend and collaborator.
PrimeBoy’s Video and Public Reaction
PrimeBoy was one of the last people to see Mohbad alive. He had posted a video on his Instagram page on March 14, showing him and Mohbad having fun at a club. He captioned the video: “My brother for life. We go hard till we die. Love you, bro.”
However, after Mohbad’s death was announced, PrimeBoy deleted the video and posted another one on March 16, claiming that he had nothing to do with Mohbad’s death. He said: “I don’t know what happened to my brother. I don’t know who killed him. I don’t know anything. Please leave me alone.”
He also accused some people of trying to frame him and tarnish his image. He said: “Some people are saying that I killed my brother because of money or fame. That is a lie from the pit of hell. I love my brother more than anything in this world. He was my best friend. We started this music journey together. We shared everything. Why would I kill him?”
PrimeBoy’s video sparked mixed reactions from the public. Some people sympathised with him and defended him from the accusations. They said that he was innocent until proven guilty and that he was grieving for his friend.
However, some people doubted his sincerity and questioned his motives. They said that he was hiding something and that he was trying to cover up his tracks. They also wondered why he deleted the previous video and why he refused to cooperate with the police.
The Mystery Continues
As of now, the police have not revealed any conclusive evidence or motive behind Mohbad’s death. They have also not confirmed or denied any involvement of PrimeBoy or any other suspect in the case.
The public is still waiting for more updates and clarity on what really happened to Mohbad and who is responsible for his demise.
Meanwhile, PrimeBoy remains at large and his whereabouts are unknown. The police have urged anyone with information on his location to contact them immediately.
The case of Mohbad’s death and PrimeBoy’s involvement has become one of the most talked-about topics in Nigeria, especially among fans of music and entertainment. It has also exposed some of the dark sides and challenges of the industry that many young and talented artists face.
