BREAKING: Lagos Assembly Passes VAT, Open Grazing Bills
The Value Added Tax (VAT) Bill was passed by the Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday.
iexclusive News Nigeria reports that the Speaker Mudashiru Obasa instructing the Acting Clerk of the House, Mr. Olalekan Onafeko, to send a clean copy to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for assent.
The law prohibiting open cattle grazing in the state was also passed by the House.
The two bills were passed after unanimous votes from legislators at the third reading of the bills.
Speaker Obasa immediately praised his colleagues on their commitment to ensuring that the state’s growth continues.
Obasa stated, “I thank you all for this historic exercise.”
On Wednesday, the House held separate public hearings on the legislation, with stakeholders expressing their support.
